Whether in poultry, swine, dairy or greenhouse production, the Monitrol EC motor integrates seamlessly with your existing GENIUS iTouch system, providing quieter, longer-lasting and more cost-effective ventilation.
Ventilation that responds to your building’s actual needs
- More stable climate conditions: Fan speed adjusts gradually to prevent significant fluctuations in temperature and static pressure.
- Less wasted energy: The motor delivers only the ventilation needed, precisely when it is required.
- Individual fan control: Each fan can be controlled according to the specific needs of its zone.
- Quieter operation: Smooth speed modulation reduces noise whenever full fan capacity is not required.
- Less manual monitoring: With a connected system, producers can view the operating status and performance of their fans.
Better electrical power management
The GENIUS EC motor features built-in power factor correction. This technology improves how the motor uses electrical power and helps limit apparent power demand.
It can help reduce the current required for a given power output, minimize certain harmonic disturbances, and reduce stress on wiring and electrical equipment.

EC vs. AC Comparison
| Criterion | GENIUS EC Motor | Traditional AC Motor |
|---|---|---|
| Energy consumption | Lower energy consumption thanks to EC technology and precise speed control | Generally higher energy consumption, particularly when operating at reduced speed |
| Service life | Generates less heat at reduced speed, which can help extend motor life | Generally generates more heat at reduced speed, potentially increasing wear |
| Ventilation control | Precise, gradual modulation helps maintain stable static pressure and consistent indoor conditions | Less precise modulation can lead to greater fluctuations in building conditions |
Conventional 0–10 V Control
The motor adjusts its speed proportionally to the signal it receives. Ventilation gradually increases or decreases according to the building’s needs, without the sudden fluctuations associated with basic on/off operation.
Modbus Communication
With a compatible configuration, each fan can communicate with the GENIUS controller. The system can then transmit data such as motor speed, operating status and detected faults. Estimated airflow in CFM can also be displayed when a validated fan performance curve has been configured.
